bravo! cayetana álvarez de toledo returns to

The political tension has risen several integers this Wednesday in the plenary session of Congress, and the most tense moment has been the PP’s protest when the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, decided to withdraw from the journal of sessions the insult that the PP spokeswoman, Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo, threw at the father of the second vice president, Pablo Iglesias.

It was in her second intervention when the PP spokeswoman argued that one is not responsible for what parents do, and hardly for those of their children, and then closed her speech by saying: “You are the son of a terrorist”.

After the vice-president’s turn, Meritxell Batet asked Álvarez de Toledo to withdraw the accusation of terrorism against Iglesias’ father, to which the PP spokeswoman replied that he had been a member of the FRAP” (Frente Revolucionario Antifascista y Patriota, an anti-fascist organization created in the final stretch of Franco’s dictatorship). Batet then ordered that the insult be removed from the minutes, which initiated protests from the PP deputies, kicking the floor, while Álvarez de Toledo exclaimed: “What? No!”.

Pablo Iglesias’ father has been accused of “terrorist” by Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo this Wednesday in the Congress of Deputies. The PP spokeswoman, who has had the option to rectify, has insisted on her defamation, even posting the cut later on social networks to win the applause of her followers.

During the tense debate they have held this Wednesday in the Plenary of Congress, the ‘popular’ leader has claimed that Iglesias is “son of a terrorist”, alleging that the vice president’s father was a militant in the Anti-Fascist and Patriot Revolutionary Front (FRAP), a communist armed group that acted in the late Francoism and during the Transition.

The spokeswoman of the PP in Congress, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, has ratified this Thursday her affirmation of yesterday that the father of the second vice president of the Government, Pablo Iglesias, is a “terrorist”, something that she considers a “factual fact” said by the leader of Unidas Podemos himself.

Álvarez de Toledo has doubted that “the lawyers will arrive”, in relation to the possible complaint that Iglesias’ father has announced, and has said that, in the meantime, she will demand that her statements remain in the journal of sessions of the full Congress, instead of withdrawing them as requested by the president of the House, Meritxell Batet.

This afternoon, the PP spokeswoman has reproached that they want to withdraw her statement from the journal of sessions, while Iglesias today accused Vox of “wanting to give a coup” and “not only did not withdraw it, but it was ratified with derision”, without the president of the Reconstruction Commission, Patxi Lopez, doing anything.

In his opinion, this is a sign of the “imbalance of moral superiority” between the left and the right, since “when coup intentions are attributed, not only is it not withdrawn, but the person who has to leave, out of dignity, is the spokesman who has been offended”, in reference to Iván Espinosa de los Monteros.
