The incident took place around 08.00 local time (14.00 GMT) at the American School of the Northeast, located in the north of Monterrey and which is private. The governor explained that the families who have their children in that school are “anguished”, “scared” and “worried”. He also called on Mexican society to reflect on violence and the use of weapons.

The governor asked the Mexican media to stop broadcasting video images of the moment of the attack, apparently recorded by a closed circuit camera from inside the classroom where the incident took place, because they go against the rights of minors and against the prestige of the press.

After an incident with a firearm was reported inside the Colegio Americano del Noreste, parents are living moments of desperation due to the lack of information about the incident.

According to local media reports, parents went to the school to find out about their children, since information about the incident began to flow previously on social networks, causing fear and anxiety among the citizens of Monterrey.

There is a lot of consternation, among the board, students, parents, something that we must not let pass, it is something serious, it invites us to reflect on how to take care of our children”, detailed Nuevo Leon’s Security spokesman, Aldo Fasci.
